The Clubhouse Card: BMW Championship Fantasy Picks

A no-cut BMW Championship card built around four-round security, current fantasy production, recent form, and the skills that fit a long par-70 test at Bellerive.4 min read / By Clubhouse Contributor

The BMW Championship is a different fantasy puzzle from a normal TOUR week. All 50 players are scheduled for four rounds, so there is no conventional cut risk to price into a decision. The edge comes from identifying who can turn those guaranteed rounds into birdie volume, bonus opportunities, and a strong finish at a long par-70 course. The picks below use Clubhouse Heroes season fantasy rankings, recent tournament results, and Bellerive's power-plus-ball-striking profile.

Top Fantasy Plays

Scottie Scheffler is the card's anchor. He is first in Clubhouse Heroes season fantasy average at 109.9 points, won last week with 173 points, and owns the best scoring average in the available data. Four guaranteed rounds only strengthen the case for the player with the field's highest floor and ceiling.

Sam Burns is the form-driven alternative. His last five finishes are T4, T3, T13, T2, and T28, and four of those five starts produced at least 97 fantasy points. His 313.7-yard driving average supplies the power Bellerive rewards, while his 80.9 season fantasy average ranks seventh.

Matt Fitzpatrick offers the cleanest balanced profile behind Scheffler. He ranks third in season fantasy average at 88.2, hits nearly 68% of fairways and 71.4% of greens, and has four top-13 finishes in his last five completed events. Si Woo Kim is another premium play after finishing T2 last week; he ranks sixth in season fantasy average and has made 21 cuts with 11 top-10s in the recorded season data.

Safest Starts

Scheffler is the safest start for the same reason he is the best overall play: there is no weakness in the current statistical or results profile. Tommy Fleetwood is next. He has finished T11, T5, T14, T17, and T14 in his last five starts, and his 85.1 season fantasy average ranks fourth. That combination of consistency and four guaranteed rounds is exactly what a safe start should look like.

Collin Morikawa belongs in this tier as well. He ranks tenth in season fantasy average, hits 67.2% of fairways and 70.7% of greens, and does not need a hot driver to create scoring chances. Ludvig Aberg is a slightly more aggressive safe-start option: 315.9 yards off the tee, nearly 70% greens in regulation, and a 75.8-point recent-form metric give him multiple paths to a productive week.

High-Upside Plays

Cameron Young is the classic ceiling play. His recent results have cooled with a T40 and T61, but he still ranks second in Clubhouse Heroes season fantasy average at 91.1 and has a T2 at The Open within his last four starts. At 315.3 yards off the tee, he can shorten Bellerive in a way few players can.

Rory McIlroy has an even more obvious power route. His 327.5-yard driving average leads the headline group, and his 84.7 season fantasy average ranks fifth despite a quieter recent stretch. Wyndham Clark is the momentum swing: he rebounded from consecutive missed cuts with a T5 last week and owns a 309.3-yard driving average. Chris Gotterup also fits the ceiling bucket with 320.1 yards off the tee and a top-10 season fantasy ranking.

Sleepers

Michael Brennan has the most interesting sleeper profile. He won the Wyndham Championship three starts ago for 146 fantasy points and averages 325.4 yards off the tee. His season-long fantasy rank is only 95th, but a no-cut event gives that power four rounds to create birdie and low-round bonuses.

Alex Fitzpatrick is the steadier sleeper. He ranks 20th in season fantasy average at 73.1 points, and his recent-form metric is nearly identical at 73.4. Alex Smalley is a fit-based option because he has hit 70.0% of greens in the available season data. J.T. Poston is a deeper tournament play: his season rank is modest, but the Clubhouse Heroes recent-form metric has risen to 80.4 points.

Fades and Players to Avoid

These are relative fades, not predictions that a player will miss the weekend; there is no cut. Robert MacIntyre carries the largest form warning after a negative fantasy total last week and a recent-form metric of 33.8 points, well below his 66.5 season average. Sepp Straka's recent metric has fallen to 41.2 against a 59.0 season average, and his recent results include two missed cuts before last week's T34.

Min Woo Lee remains capable of overpowering Bellerive, but his recent fantasy metric is 46.0 compared with a 71.1 season average. Matt McCarty is another avoid at this field strength after a 37.8 recent metric and a 56.6 season average. In a 50-man event, the opportunity cost matters: using a cold profile means passing on a proven four-round scorer in the same field.
